Jets wide receiver Plaxico Burress and running back Joe McKnight did not practice Wednesday during the portion of practice open to the media.

Burress fought through a back injury last week to play in Buffalo, but coach Rex Ryan said it was a game-time decision and Burress was nearly unable to play. Burress watched Wednesday’s practice from the sideline in sweats.

McKnight stretched with the team then went inside the training center. He did not have pads on. It is unknown what McKnight’s injury is.

Safety Brodney Pool also sat out practice with a knee injury he suffered Sunday in Buffalo.

The good news for the Jets was starting defensive tackle Mike DeVito was going through drills after missing the past two games with a sprained MCL. Defensive tackle Kenrick Ellis, who sprained his ankle two weeks ago, also practiced.

Ryan will give a full injury update later Wednesday. The Jets face the Patriots on Sunday night at MetLife Stadium.

Jets linebacker David Harris was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance Sunday against the Bills. Harris had five tackles and an interception in the 27-11 win.
