Highlights from Tuesday’s Giants practice.

Passing Grade

The quarterbacks were sharp: Daniel Jones dropped a couple of deep throws over Corey Ballentine’s shoulder to Darius Slayton. They had a third connection in team periods, and then Jones threw a touchdown to Saquon Barkley. Not to be outdone, Colt McCoy fired a pass to the sideline for Austin Mack, who made a difficult catch.

Pick Problem

Outside linebacker Kyler Fackrell dropped an interception thrown right into his hands that would’ve been a pick-six. The Giants have struggled generating takeaways over the last three seasons and can’t have opportunities like that (literally) slip through their fingers.

Caught My Eye

With all the attention paid to other receivers during camp, don’t sleep on C.J. Board. He caught a pass from Jones during the scrimmage and continued to rotate in with starters Tuesday, with Golden Tate out. Board’s primary value is as a returner, but he could steal a roster spot from David Sills, Corey Coleman or Austin Mack.

Medical Report

Tate (hamstring) did not practice. LB Blake Martinez, TE Rysen John and S Jaquarius Landrews were on the side, with Martinez running sprints. DE R.J. McIntosh and CB Montre Hartage returned after leaving practice Monday.
