Calvin Ridley is taking his talents to Jacksonville.
The Falcons are trading Ridley, who is suspended for at least the rest of the season after it was determined that he bet on NFL games, for what NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport characterizes as a “complex” package of draft picks that could be as high as a 2024 second-rounder if he reaches an extension with the team.

According to the NFL, Ridley had placed bets during a five-day period in November of last year, when he was not at team facilities.
“I bet 1500 total I don’t have a gambling problem,” Ridley tweeted shortly after the news of his suspension broke in March. “I couldn’t even watch football at that point.
“I know I was wrong But I’m getting 1 year lol.”
“Just gone be more healthy when I come back,” he added.
The Falcons released a statement at the time, saying, “We were first made aware of the league’s investigation on Feb. 9. We have cooperated fully with the investigation since receiving notice and support the league’s findings and actions. We are moving forward in the 2022 season with the decision that was made. With the decision that was made by the NFL, and further questions on the investigation should be directed to the league office.”
It has been a busy trade deadline across the league. Pass rusher Bradley Chubb was shipped from the Broncos to the Dolphins for a package that included a 2023 first round pick that Miami had acquired from San Francisco. The Bears acquired wideout Chase Claypool from the Steelers, a day after trading linebacker Roquan Smith to the Ravens — and a week after shipping pass rusher Robert Quinn to the Eagles.
