Cam Newton’s Patriots debut ended with a little bit of controversy.
Newton, who led New England to a 21-11 win, butted helmets and exchanged words with Dolphins defenders after kneeling down on the final play of the Week 1 victory.
Newton wrote on Instagram that Dolphins players were trying “to snatch my chain and the game … too bad I got both.”
One video did show defensive tackle Christian Wilkins reaching out for Newton’s chest during the postgame scrum. Two of Wilkins’ teammates mocked Newton’s accusations.
“We don’t won’t that weak ass chain,” defensive end Shaq Lawson wrote.
“Man ain’t nobody want your fake ass chains s–t was weak anyway 😂” defensive tackle Raekwon Davis added.
The AFC East rivals do not meet again until Week 15.
