DE Chris Canty who is recovering from a torn hamstring injury and hasn’t practiced since Aug. 7, did some individual work during practice.
“We took him around and introduced him to the other players,” Tom Coughlin said. “He had shoulder pads and we tried to help him put those on. He worked and it was good to see him out there. He was good about it too, his attitude was great.”

Coughlin wouldn’t commit to how many series starting QB Eli Manning would play Thursday against the Patriots. The coach did confirm that Andre Woodson and Rhett Bomar, who are competing for the No.3 spot on the depth chart behind Manning and David Carr, would see time.
The Giants placed rookie running back Andre Brown on injured reserve and waived tight end Lee Vickers. OL Andrew Carnahan was waived/injured
Ironically, Carnahan was injured in a collision with Vickers on Monday.
Brown rushed for 2,539 yards and 22 touchdowns and caught 70 passes for 631 yards and two scores in college.
Vickers signed with the Giants in March. He entered the NFL as a defensive end with Pittsburgh in 2006 before switching to tight end. In 2007, he played in eight games with the Baltimore Ravens and caught two passes.
The Giants got Carnahan on waivers in April. He was inactive for nine games with the Kansas City Chiefs last season and spent seven weeks on the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad.
