The Chargers picked up their first dub of the season and they haven’t even played a single down.
Los Angeles pulled no punches in a hilarious social media video released Wednesday to promote the release of their 2024 schedule.
While no team was spared, the social media team used their best material on the AFC West rival Chiefs
Taylor Swift appeared to make an appearance in the video. X / @chargersKansas City’s portion uses Travis Kelce’s now infamous squirrel post on X and his relationship with pop icon Taylor Swift.
At the ending of the video, the Chargers made fun of the controversy surrounding Harrison Butker’s commencement address over the weekend at Benedictine College in Kansas.
A player in a red No. 7 jersey is seen in the kitchen putting a pie in an over oven and cleaning a counter, which appeared to be a dig at his comments “one of the most important titles of all” for a woman being a “homemaker.“
The Chargers mocked each of their opponents in a nearly three-and-a-half-minute video that was created in likeness to the popular 2000s computer game “The Sims,” with references to everything from Taylor Swift and the “New Heights” podcast to poking fun at NBA star Zion Willamson.

The Chargers had fun with their “Sims” schedule release. X / @chargersThe video was posted on X with the caption, “should we REALLY make our schedule release video in the sims?” and a “NO” written out with scores of yeses.
The satirical video starts with the Chargers’ Week 1 opponent — the Raiders — as it cuts to a “Sims” character in silver and black jersey being dressed in a clown wig and sad makeup.
Another notable moment was for their Week 3 matchup against the Steelers when the video mocked Russell Wilson’s excitement to be in Pittsburgh — only to become upset when Justin Fields arrived.

A jet — seemingly Taylor Swift’s — also made an appearance. X / @chargersNon-NFL players weren’t spared either as Williamson, the Pelicans star, was seen during the Saints’ portion appearing to be overweight, referencing the controversy surrounding his size during the NBA season.
A reference was also made to the movie “Home Team,” which stars Kevin James as former Saints coach Sean Payton.
And speaking of Payton, he was poked fun at during the Broncos’ portion when a sign with sunglasses with a circle and a line through them was seen on a wall, referencing Payton’s ban on sunglasses and bucket hats on the sidelines last season.

The Falcons also used an video game to announce their schedule. X / @AtlantaFalconsBut the Chargers weren’t the only ones with a creative schedule release video.
The Falcons made their schedule release video in the image of another classic Electronic Arts game, “NFL Street.”
