Xavier Worthy took a nasty hit — from one of his own players.

The Chiefs wide receiver crashed into star tight end Travis Kelce in the first quarter on Friday night while both were running crossing routes in Kansas City’s 27-21 loss.

On the third play of the first series of the game against the Chargers in Brazil, quarterback Patrick Mahomes looked to throw toward the left as Worthy came across from the right side.

Kelce, coming from the left to the right, inadvertently crashed into the receiver while the ball was in the air.

Worthy was originally ruled questionable to return before being downgraded to out with a shoulder injury early in the second quarter. Chiefs coach Andy Reid said he did not have any further update on the receiver, who will undergo an MRI when the team returns stateside.

“We’ll know tomorrow once we get back,” Reid told reporters after the loss.

Worthy finished with one rush for no gain and just the one target. Kelce had two catches for 47 yards – 37 of which came on a fourth-quarter touchdown.
