Daron Payne’s punch is going to cost him.

The Commanders defensive tackle has been suspended one game without pay by the NFL after swinging at Lions receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown in Sunday’s 44-22 blowout loss at home.

Payne, 28, will be eligible to return on Nov. 17, one day after the Commanders face the Dolphins in Madrid, NFL.com reported Monday. He could also appeal the ban.

The former first-round pick was ejected from Sunday’s game after putting his hips into a right cross punch at St. Brown in the first half.

Payne’s frustration likely boiled over as things started to get out of hand, with Detroit taking a 19-point lead with 9:41 left in the second quarter.

He was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct and tossed for the first time in his career.

Ex-Jet-turned-Commanders defensive lineman Javon Kinlaw was also flagged for a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

Thanks to the penalties, the Commanders gave the Lions a two-point conversion opportunity from the one-yard line, which they easily converted to go up 22-3.

Payne is among the league’s highest-paid interior defensive linemen, making $19.56 million in base pay.

Should the one-game suspension hold, Payne will miss out on his weekly $1.15 million paycheck.

The Commanders, who played without injured starting quarterback Jayden Daniels on Sunday, fell to 3-7 on the season.
