Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence is brushing away the criticism as easily as he did the young fan who prompted it.
Lawrence was approached by a young fan wearing a Giants Saquon Barkley jersey to get him to sign a rally towel, but the 6-foot-3, two-time Pro Bowler didn’t break stride.
“Get the right jersey, son,” Lawrence called to him.
Video of the interaction was put on Twitter, leading to criticism for the 27-year-old.
“It’s crazy how you fans want to attack me for not signing for a kid,” Lawrence tweeted. “It’s more than one kid that comes to the game with Cowboys jersey and never get to meet any player. So if I’m honest with my own kids I will never treat your kid better than mine so suck it up. #SorryNotSorry.”
Lawrence had half a sack in the Cowboys’ 35-17 demolition of the Giants on Sunday.
