Giants quarterback Daniel Jones surprised high school quarterback Alex Brown with tickets to Super Bowl 2022, two months after the New Jersey athlete recorded eight touchdowns in a game following his mother’s death.

In a video shared Wednesday on Instagram, Jones can be seen seen FaceTiming with Brown from the Giants’ locker room. Brown, whose mother, Michelle, died of breast cancer in November, could hardly contain his excitement when Jones surprised him with three tickets to Super Bowl 56, which will be played Feb. 13 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.

“That’s insane,” Brown said before he and his friends began to celebrate on the basketball court.

Brown, the quarterback for Red Bank Catholic, threw six touchdowns passes and ran for two more in a 58-34 win over Morris Catholic last fall in the quarterfinals of the NJSIAA tournament, one day after his mother’s death.

“Yesterday I lost my amazing mother. Today I scored 8 touchdowns, thank you for watching over me mama,” Brown tweeted at the time.

Following the game, Brown told CBS New York that it “felt like the whole night was scripted before I even got there.

“I threw that first touchdown pass, and I just knew she was going to be with me the whole night,” he said. “And it was a really special feeling.”

The divisional round of the NFL playoffs get underway this weekend, and the teams for Super Bowl 56 will be determined in the conference championship games on Jan. 30.
