The Giants’ surprise selection of Duke quarterback Daniel Jones mostly was met with awkward silence on Twitter from their existing roster.

Aside from a tweet from tight end Evan Engram, there was little reaction from the rest of Big Blue over the use of the team’s sixth overall selection in the NFL Draft.

“Looking good, @DanielJones! Welcome to the @Giants.” Engram tweeted. “@PaniniAmerica already has your #NFLDraft card on #PaniniInstant! #GiantsPride #WhoDoYouCollect”

Shortly before the Giants made their selection, newly signed wide receiver Golden Tate asked Giants fans what they wanted to happen.

“Ok easy picks done. Now Things Get Interesting! What you guys thinking?” Tate asked.

One follower replied with a Photoshopped picture of another available quarterback, Dwayne Haskins, in a Giants jersey, to which Tate replied: “Man the internet is too quick! Lol.” As of 10 p.m., Tate did not tweet out a reaction to the Jones selection.

Haskins ended up going to the Washington Redskins with the No. 15 overall pick — only after laughing at the Giants’ pick hours earlier.

The Jets, on the other hand, were very enthused after landing Quinnen Williams with the No. 3 overall pick.
