Observations for Giants’ training camp on Tuesday.

That’s So Slay

WR Darius Slayton caught back-to-back touchdown passes from QB Daniel Jones (12-for-14 passing in team periods) in the red zone near the end of practice.

TE Darren Waller had four catches in 11-on-11. He also made a juggling, falling-down grab on the sideline against CB Adoree’ Jackson’s tight coverage in 1-on-1s.

Sigh of Relief

WR Jalin Hyatt got tangled up with CB Zyon Gilbert on the sideline and seemed to be trying to walk off a slight limp between plays.

Whenever his number was called, though, the speedy Hyatt showed no signs of slowing down. He even caught a bomb from QB Tyrod Taylor.

Caught My Eye

With Jason Pinnock sidelined, Dane Belton stepped in at safety with the starters. He is firmly entrenched as the third safety, ahead of rookie Gervarrius Owens and veteran Bobby McCain, who could be battling each other for one roster spot.

Injury Report

OT Tyre Phillips returned on a limited basis, which was the only change from Monday, when Pinnock, OL Jack Anderson, WR Cole Beasley, RB Gary Brightwell, TE Tommy Sweeney, LB Cam Brown, DE Ryder Anderson, S Nick McCloud and CB Cor’Dale Flott did not practice. Beasley (leg) is “day-to-day,” head coach Brian Daboll said. WR Sterling Shepherd and DT Leonard Williams took veteran rest days.
