Derek Carr really wants to reunite with an old pal.

The Raiders quarterback, who has made it known he would love to pair up with former Fresno State teammate Davante Adams, recently discussed how he will try to recruit the Green Bay Packers wide receiver to join him in Las Vegas.

“[Adams is] one of my best friends,” Carr said on “‎The Cris Collinsworth Podcast” this week. “I’m gonna offer him whatever I gotta offer. I’ll buy him a car, whatever I’ve got to do I’ll offer that man. I know he would fit in great with the receivers we have here. He would fit so well in that room. I’m allowed to say those things. Our organization isn’t, but I’m going to say it. He’s my best friend, I think he’s one of the best — he’s the best receiver in the NFL.”

With Carr, 30, as his quarterback in college, Adams, 28, totaled 3,031 receiving yards and 38 touchdowns in two seasons. In 2013, Adams led the nation in receiving touchdowns and Carr led in passing yards, passing touchdowns and pass completions.

Carr wants an encore. But first, he wants a Fresno State Super Bowl matchup.

“[Adams is] focused on being a Packer and I know that because I see how he works,” Carr said. “I know how he works and I know how much it means to him. He’s focused on that and I’m focused on trying to get to the Super Bowl, win the Super Bowl, hopefully he’s in it so I can beat his butt too. That’s the plan, then recruit him over to the dark side.”

Adams — who called a reunion with Carr “a dream” — has his eyes set on Green Bay. Even though the future of his current quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, is in doubt, Adams recently told Bleacher Report’s Graham Matthews that he wants to stay in Green Bay beyond next season.

Adams’ four-year contract expires after the 2021 season. His 18 touchdowns led the NFL last year and would certainly help a Raiders passing game that needs a true number one receiver.
