It may have happened because of confusion, or perhaps it was intentional, but Seattle wide receiver DK Metcalf ended up back on the field after he was ejected from Sunday’s game against the Packers.
As the Seahawks huddled with just over a minute left in the fourth quarter, and Metcalf stood in the huddle, a referee blew his whistle, placed his hand on Metcalf’s back and directed him to return to the sideline. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the CBS broadcast had briefly showed another player walking down the tunnel after Metcalf’s ejection, so it’s possible that there may have been confusion.
Moments before he tried to re-enter the huddle, the Seattle wide receiver grabbed the facemask of Packers safety Henry Black and held onto it. Black flung his arms in the air as Packers safety Adrian Amos stepped in and broke up the scuffle, but Metcalf ended up grabbing Eric Stokes’ facemask, too.

Russell Wilson added postgame that “I don’t think DK is emotional. I think he’s passionate,” according to ProFootballTalk.
Seattle’s offense had stalled throughout the entire game against the Green Bay defense, and Metcalf’s frustrations had finally boiled over. He recorded three catches for 26 yards, totaling eight targets, as the Seahawks were shut out in Wilson’s return from a finger injury. Wilson completed 20 of 40 passes with two interceptions after a recovery that sped past projected timelines.
“I think as an offense, we just kind of struggled just to get the ball moving. Some throws were off, some throws were there. I know I had a couple of key drops that I should’ve caught,” Metcalf said.
