The Dolphins will soon be on the clock in the 2020 NFL Draft and it appears they’re taking a second glance at available quarterbacks not named Tua Tagovailoa.

With the fifth overall pick — four behind the quarterback-needy Bengals — it appears the Dolphins have developed an “increasingly positive view” of Oregon’s Justin Herbert, according to the Miami Herald, following months of speculation linking Miami to Alabama’s Tagovailoa, who sustained a season-ending hip injury last November.

The apparent change of heart stems from the Dolphins’ concern “about Tagovailoa’s return to full health,” a source told the paper, in addition to “his durability in the long-term beyond the current injury.”

Dolphins owner Stephen Ross spoke about Tagovailoa prior to Super Bowl last month, telling ESPN, “He’s a great player. I just worry about his health.

“The coaches [and GM] make the decision on the draft choices. We’ll have to look at what his health is and everything else and see what the alternatives are.”

With Joe Burrow of LSU expected to land in Cincinnati, it seems the Dolphins are examining all options on the table, namely the 6-foot-6, 237-pound prospect named Herbert.
