A blockbuster trade rocked the NFL world on Monday.
The Dolphins have agreed to trade three-time All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey to the Steelers in exchange for three-time All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, per multiple reports.
Fitzpatrick, 28, will return to Miami, where his NFL career began as the Dolphins’ 11th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

The seven-time Pro Bowler started all 17 games for the Dolphins in 2024, recording two interceptions, 11 pass breakups, 60 tackles and one sack.
In the months following the Dolphins’ disappointing 8-9 campaign, it was reported in April that the team and Ramsey were mutually exploring trade options.
Minkah Fitzpatrick was also part of the Steelers-Dolphins blockbuster in June 2025. Meanwhile, veteran Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt is still without a long-term deal.
During a Monday appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” ESPN’s Schefter said, “Everybody just had assumed rightfully that the two sides will figure it out, but I don’t think they’re very close right now. And I don’t think that he’s particularly pleased.”
In addition to Ramsey, the Dolphins also sent tight end Jonnu Smith and a 2027 seventh-round pick to Pittsburgh in exchange for a 2027 fifth-round pick to complete the deal.

Smith, also at the center of offseason trade buzz, will get a one-year contract extension for $12 million, as confirmed by his agents, Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey.
It’s another reunion for Smith and Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith after they were together in Tennessee and Atlanta.
The Steelers have been active this offseason, signing former MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers to a one-year deal earlier this month — and acquiring wideout DK Metcalf and cornerback Darius Slay.
The Steelers open the 2025 season against the Jets at MetLife Stadium on Sept. 7.
