Drew Brees just picked up his first win of 2020.

The Saints quarterback announced Thursday that he and his wife, Brittany, were committing $5 million to the state of Louisiana to help communities in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

“After considerable research and conversations with local organizations, we will be mobilizing our partnerships with Second Harvest Food Bank, Ochsner Health Systems, Walk-Ons, Jimmy Johns, Smalls Sliders and Waitr to prepare and deliver over 10,000 meals per day throughout Louisiana for as long as it takes to children on meal programs, seniors, and families in need,” Brees wrote in an Instagram post. “Let’s all do our part, maintain hope, and get through this together.

The 41-year-old Brees recently re-signed with the Saints on a two-year, $50 million contract to keep the future Hall of Famer in New Orleans for a 15th and 16th season.

Brees’ coach, Sean Payton, tested positive for coronavirus last week, but said Wednesday he has been “cleared” and is on the road to recovery.
