The Eagles made headlines by trading out of the top 10 in the NFL Draft. Now, they may be trying to move back into it.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Philadelphia GM Howie Roseman has been busy working the phones to improve his team’s first selection, which is currently No. 12 overall.
Pelissero did say Roseman is usually active this time of year, and frequently speaks to everyone he possibly can. In fact, the Eagles have made 34 draft trades since he took over the front office in 2010.
The Lions could be a trade partner. New general manager Brad Holmes said the team has had discussions about moving down in the draft, and Philadelphia does have two third-round picks to make it happen.
“We talk about those things – when we’re having the conversations we’re saying, ‘Hey, if you want to move up, what are you thinking, if you want to move back.’ We made a trade already where we moved back and had that done,” Roseman said last week.

Getty Images“That’s what we’re trying to do now in the week leading up to the draft is have those conversations, and if someone is saying, ‘Hey, it would take this for you to move up’ or someone is saying, ‘I’d only trade this for you to move back,’ we can cross those guys off the list a little bit and understand they’re probably not serious bidders.”
