Giants star tight end Evan Engram filmed himself taking Daniel Jones’ first career NFL touchdown footballs from the rookie quarterback locker’s on Monday.
“SHHHH!!! DJ FIRST TUDS! SECURED!! @DANIELJONES3,” Engram joked on Instagram.
It was a light-hearted moment for Engram, who hasn’t had many of them since the Giants drafted him in 2017.
Two terrible seasons followed, but the franchise now appears to be on the upswing with Jones under center.
The sixth overall pick in this year’s draft led the Giants to an incredible comeback win against the Buccaneers in his debut start Sunday. Jones went 23-of-36 with 336 yards, two rushing and passing touchdowns, including a 75-yarder to Engram.
Jones’ second 7-yard rushing touchdown came with less than two minutes left and capped off an 18-point comeback that gave the Giants (1-2) their first win of the season.
