Tom Brady may be in Rex Ryan’s head, but Ryan’s on the tip of Brady’s tongue.

The longtime nemeses, with Brady serving as a Bill Belichick proxy in Ryan’s mind as the ultimate beast to hunt, took on each other again Monday night. But the Patriots quarterback had a surprise for the Buffalo defense and its head coach, unveiling an audible call at the line of scrimmage that seems to have been specifically designed for the game.

“Rex Ryan!” Brady screams to his offense, and the Bills defense, and loud enough that TV mics can pick it up, and loud enough that the former Jets coach likely knows his name’s being shouted from across the field.

Facing the Patriots always meant more to Ryan. Maybe that incentive isn’t one-sided.
