Christian Hackenberg’s playing days may be over, but the Jets draft bust isn’t done with the sport.
The former Penn State star and Jets second-round pick is joining Winslow Township High School (N.J.) as its quarterbacks coach, the school announced on Twitter on Wednesday, at the age of 26.

The Jets dealt Hackenberg to the Raiders in May of 2018 for a conditional seventh-round pick. The Raiders released him that June. He did get two more shots, with the Eagles and Bengals, but didn’t last long at either place.
He tried to make a comeback in the AAF, which has been since shut down, but he lost his spot after three games with the Memphis Express.
Now he’s getting into coaching — sooner than anyone could’ve expected.
