Jerry Jones isn’t playing around.

On Monday, the Cowboys announced the signing of veteran running back Alfred Morris, hours after Jones sent a scathing message to prized player Ezekiel Elliott, as his contract holdout from training camp continues.

Morris, who signed a one-year deal with the Cowboys, played for the team from 2016-2017. He previously filled in for Elliott in 2017, when the running back served his six-game suspension over domestic violence allegations.

Elliott was spotted Monday in Cabo San Lucas, where the two-time Pro Bowler rocked a dark hoodie and sunglasses as he made his way through an airport in Mexico.

Discussions between Elliott’s agent and the Cowboys appear to be continuing, according to ESPN, noting both parties “have swapped proposals, but sources indicate that nothing is close at the moment.”

Elliott is set to make $3.85 million in 2019 and just over $9 million in 2020. He rushed for an NFL-best 1,434 yards last season.
