TAMPA, Fla. — Two-time Super Bowl winner Lawrence Tynes, who spent the last six years with the Giants, signed with the Buccaneers yesterday.

Tynes will replace kicker Connor Barth, who will miss the upcoming season with a torn Achilles tendon, which he injured while playing in a charity basketball game.

Tynes, a ninth-year pro, helped the Giants win NFL titles in 2007 and 2011.

“Lawrence and his agent, Ken Harris, had other standing opportunities, but we are pleased that they thought this was the right place for Lawrence to continue his career,” Bucs general manager Mark Dominik said.

Both times the Giantsreached the Super Bowl, Tynes kicked game-winning field goals in overtime to win the NFC championship game.
