Ahmad Bradshaw is nearing the next step in his career.

The former Giants running back is getting a physical done by Steelers doctors Thursday and if he’s cleared Bradshaw will likely be signed by Pittsburgh, according to NFL.com’s Aditi Kinkhabwala on Twitter.

Bradshaw, who was the Giants’ primary running back in 2012, has had a history of medical problems, most notably with his feet. He had surgery on his right foot last month, days before he was cut by the Giants.

Bradshaw, 27, ran for 1,1015 yards and six touchdowns on 221 carries this past season. His career-high total was 1,235 on 276 carries in 2010. He was drafted in the seventh round by the Giants in 2007 and won two Super Bowls with the team.
