The Jets always find ways to make you scratch your head. As Brian Costello and I were recording the latest “Gang’s All Here” podcast with special guest Peter King, I saw Coz checking his phone as King was answering a question. He broke the news to us as we were recording that the Jets will start Joe Flacco on Sunday against the Dolphins. Woah. Stunner.
Well, it gave us a heck of a storyline for the show. Because the lead story we were starting with was the Rex Ryan-Robert Saleh feud. Does starting Flacco over Mike White make sense? Does Flacco give the Jets the better chance to win? We answer that, preview Jets-Dolphins, play the Rex-Saleh sound, have a terrific conversation with King and play a little Stump the Coz with Jets trivia.

- REX-SALEH: Was Rex wrong for calling out Saleh? Rex continues to be the headline gift that keeps on giving. Surprised Saleh fired back. Rex told Coz this months ago about not wanting Saleh compared to him.
- FLACCO: Stunned by this move. Zach Wilson’s knee clearly still not 100%. The Jets think Flacco gives them the best chance to win. There is a connection with GM Joe Douglas and Flacco dating back to their Ravens days, so that plays a part here.
- DOLPHINS @ JETS PREVIEW: This should be a close game. With the Flacco news happening as we did the pod, Coz did not have a pick ready. I am still taking the Dolphins by a field goal. Their defense is playing better and will put a ton of pressure on Flacco.
- STUMP THE COZ: Intern Cameron gives us some Jets trivia questions to ask Coz and Coz goes 6-for-7 on them. We need tougher questions.

- SEAVER/SPORTS ILLUSTRATED: Peter tells us the story of introducing himself to Tom Seaver when he was on the beat in Cincinnati and Seaver giving him his phone number. He also tells stories of traveling the country on a bus with John Madden and some of his favorite memories at Sports Illustrated.
- JETS DEFENSE: The spirit the defense is playing with is unacceptable.
- SALEH/DOUGLAS: Douglas has not given Saleh a ton of talent on defense to work with. At some point, he has to get blame. Needs to do better with draft picks.
- FLACCO NEWS: Peter says Flacco should have been a Jet to start the season. Wilson should have watched him for at least a few games before jumping right in.
