The Giants will open the 2018 season against an unfamiliar opponent but will see a very familiar face. Their season-opener is Sept. 9 against the Jaguars at MetLife Stadium, The Post confirmed, welcoming in their former head coach, Tom Coughlin, who runs the football show for the Jaguars.

Kickoff for the opener is 1 p.m.

In Week 2, the Giants hit the road to play their first NFC East game, facing the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium. The Giants had opened their season against the Cowboys five times in the past six years.

The entire Giants schedule will be announced Thursday evening.

Coughlin was the Giants’ head coach for 12 years and produced two Lombardi Trophies in winning the Super Bowl following the 2007 and 2011 seasons. In his first year returning to Jacksonville as the team’s executive vice president of football operations, Coughlin helped the Jaguars to a record of 10-6 and a first-place finish in the AFC South. In the playoffs, the Jaguars defeated the Bills and stunned the Steelers in Pittsburgh before losing to the Patriots 24-20 in the AFC Championship.

The Giants are coming off a last-place finish in the NFC East. They finished 3-13, and before the season was even complete, they fired head coach Ben McAdoo and general manager Jerry Reese.
