Samuel Giguere spent most of the last two years on the Colts practice squad, catching passes now and then from Peyton Manning. Giguere on Tuesday switched Mannings when the Giants signed him to their practice squad, meaning once in a while he’ll catch passes from Eli Manning.
To make room for Giguere, the contract of offensive lineman Dennis Landolt was terminated.
Giguere (5-11, 214) has an unusual resume, playing three years at Sherbrooke College in his native Quebec. He was signed by the Colts as a rookie free agent in May 2008 and spent the year on the practice squad.
Giguere last season was on and off the practice squad and late in the season was signed to the active roster and played in the regular-season finale. He was cut Sept. 4.
With WR Victor Cruz recently put on season-ending injured reserve, the Giants needed another receiver for their weekly preparation.
