Giants blitz
HERO
Eagles backup QB Vince Young, who started in place of injured Michael Vick, led the Eagles on a game-winning 18-play, 80-yard drive in 8:51, successful on six third-down conversions along the way. Young, overcoming three earlier INTs, connected with receiver Riley Cooper on an eight-yard TD for the win. He finished 23-of-36 for 258 yards with two TDs and three INTs.
UNSUNG HERO
Eagles tight end Brent Celek caught three key passes for first downs. The Giants’ zone defense seemingly kept losing sight of Celek, who was constantly open over the middle. He finished with six catches for 60 yards.
ZERO
Collectively, the Giants’ offensive line, which failed to open holes for the running backs and failed to protect Eli Manning, who when he wasn’t getting sacked (three times) was harassed and hit almost every time he dropped back. The worst moment came when Eagles DE Jason Babin sacked Manning and forced a game-sealing fumble with 1:17 left.
KEY MOMENT
Giants CB Corey Webster missed a tackle of Eagles WR DeSean Jackson on a third-and-five play from the Giants’ 20-yard line on the game-winning drive. If Webster tackled Jackson, the Giants could have held the Eagles to a field goal.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
