Kevin Boss said he believes the concussion that will keep him out of Sunday’s game in Indianapolis won’t have him off the field any longer than that.
“I’m pretty certain I’ll be back the following week,” Boss said.
Sunday, Boss suffered his second concussion in the past 10 months when he was slammed in the back of the neck by Panthers safety Sherrod Martin. The hit came early in the first quarter and Boss did not return.
“It was one of those where usually I get hit and I can pop up, it takes me a few moments to gather myself and get up,” Boss said. “For this one it kind of dazed me a little bit more and I was a little slower getting up and wasn’t able to get up off the ground quick enough before the trainers got out there. None of them have been real serious where I’ve blacked out and can’t remember anything so I think I’ve been pretty lucky in that aspect.”
Boss said the headaches he felt afterward were “nothing too serious” and added “I think they were just trying to be conservative about it. They don’t want to have one of those things where I get concussed in back-to-back weeks and then I’m stuck missing a big chunk of time.”
Before he can be cleared to return, Boss must take a Concussion ImPACT test to determine the full extent of the injury.
