Tom Coughlin was extremely frustrated by Ahmad Bradshaw’s fumble on the Bears 1-yard line in last week’s 17-3 victory but otherwise was delighted with the performance of his starting running back. On Tuesday, Bradshaw was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week after rushing for 129 yards on 23 carries, plus a touchdown, and also adding two receptions for 14 yards.

Bradshaw became the first Giants player to gain the offensive honor since Derrick Ward won it after he rushed for 215 yards on 15 carries against the Panthers in Week 16 of the 2008 season.

Other than losing three fumbles, Bradshaw is off to a solid start in his first season as a starter. He’s fifth in the league with 382 rushing yards and is averaging 5.1 yards per attempt.
