Welcome to smelly Jersey, Golden Tate!
“Wait… is it a thing for the attendants to pumped your gas in Jersey?” the newly minted Giants wide receiver tweeted Friday morning.
Why yes it is.
“We pump our fists .. not our gas,” responded Yes Network’s Chris Shearn, followed by a slew of responses echoing the same line.
The rule stems from the 1949 Retail Gasoline Dispensing Safety and Regulations Act, and Oregon is the only other state to lack self-service gas stations.

“Ya bro you’re not allowed to pump your own gas. It tripped me out when I first got out there too,” wrote current Detroit Lions linebacker Devon Kennard. “You’ll appreciate it when it’s freezing though.
That Tate certainly will, especially while he and the Giants chase the monumental task of returning Big Blue to the postseason.
The 30-year-old Tennessee native, who split last season between the Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles, signed a four-year, $37.5 million deal once the offseason Odell Beckham blockbuster trade left a gaping hole in the Giants’ offense.
