Jabrill Peppers will have to pay for the play that ended Kyle Allen’s season.

The Giants safety was fined $11,301 for unnecessary roughness in last Sunday’s win over the Washington Football Team, NFL Network reported Saturday.

The play in question came late in the first quarter, when Peppers rushed the quarterback, lost his balance and leg-whipped a scrambling Allen. The force of Peppers’ leg caught Allen’s left leg in an awkward position, leading to a dislocated ankle that required season-ending surgery.

Peppers was flagged for roughing the passer, though Washington coach Ron Rivera said after the game he did not think it was a dirty play.

“We all have a pact in this league,” Peppers said. “Guys have come from different circumstances, guys have worked hard to get here, so you never want to see a guy go down like that. I prayed for him. I apologized to him. I definitely didn’t intend for that to happen. I’m trying to play hard and make a play for my team. I wish him a speedy recovery.”
