Observations from Giants training camp on Sunday:

The Good

The defense consistently pressured Daniel Jones throughout Sunday’s practice and got results, with Adoree’ Jackson picking off Jones when he was forced to rush on a blitz coming from the other side. The pressure came from everywhere, as the Giants regularly sent linebackers and defensive backs after Jones with constant success.

The Bad

It was about as bad of a day for the first-team offense as you could possibly have. Jones was about 6-for-20 with two interceptions (Darnay Holmes had the other), the offensive line was out of sorts, at least two different receivers (Colin Johnson and C.J. Board) had drops. Jones also dropped a snap toward the end of practice when Ben Bredeson was at center.

Caught My Eye

The Giants blitzed defensive backs heavily throughout practice with great success, accounting for a lot of the aforementioned pressure. Whether that is a trend or simply an emphasis on Sunday will become more clear in time, but coordinator Wink Martindale is known for his blitz-heavy approach.

Medical Report

Center Jon Feliciano, safety Jihad Ward and linebacker Elerson Smith all left practice early with apparent issues. Tight end Andre Miller had a cast on his right arm. Ricky Seals-Jones, Shane Lemieux, Jamil Douglas, Blake Martinez and Cam Brown were all out. Kadarius Toney, Matt Breida, Austin Proehl, Leonard Williams, Justin Ellis, Cor’Dale Flott, Rodarius Williams and Dane Belton all worked off to the side.
