In the (red) zone

The offense was sharp in the short red zone.

Daniel Jones threw touchdown passes to Daniel Bellinger, Darius Slayton and Saquon Barkley.

Parris Campbell might have had a fourth touchdown from the deeper red zone, when he broke free after securing a slant fit through the tight coverage of a diving Darnay Holmes.

Flagged

With NFL officials presiding over practice, there was less leeway than normal.

Safety Jason Pinnock was flagged for taunting Isaiah Hodgins after an incompletion.

Darrian Beavers committed a pass-interference penalty at the goal line after he wound up behind Barkley on a deep pass.

Caught my eye

The return of the Wildcat!

Barkley was back in the shotgun taking snaps — some with Jones split out at wide receiver — as the Giants practiced what proved to be more than just a gadget last season when it was needed to finish off a late scoring drive in a win against the Bears because Jones was severely limited.

Injury report

DT Leonard Williams, WR Sterling Shepherd and OLB Azeez Ojulari were given rest days.

WR Jalin Hyatt did not participate in team drills for undisclosed reasons.

DL Ryder Anderson did not practice but “will work through” an apparent arm injury and OG Jack Anderson’s undisclosed injury isn’t a long-term issue, coach Brian Daboll said.

OT Evan Neal left practice and entered the concussion protocol.
