Kadarius Toney, where art thou? 

The rookie receiver was not on the injury report this past week and the belief is he was healing from the ankle issue that kept him out of the Giants’ Week 7 win over the Panthers. Toney, though, was a nonfactor for the Giants in their 23-16 victory over the Raiders. 

Toney caught one pass for 9 yards, picking up a first down on third-and-8 on a third-quarter drive that ended with a Graham Gano field goal. That was the only reception or target for Toney. 

“We want to get all of our receivers involved,’’ coach Joe Judge said. “Honestly, they did a good job taking these guys away at different times. A large part of our game plan, obviously, was turning to the run game. We were running the ball very productively. KT made a big play for us getting a first down down the stretch right there. That was big play for us.’’ 

Toney in the first half lined up in the backfield, with Daniel Jones split wide, as the Giants went Wildcat on third-and-2. This did not fool the Raiders and Toney was dropped by Carl Nassib for a 2-yard loss. Next, the call came in for Toney on a double-pass but after he saw cornerback Nate Hobbs closing fast, Toney decided to keep the ball and was tackled for a 6-yard loss. 

Toney did not show any of the elusiveness that led to a 189-yard receiving outing in Dallas back in Week 5. He does not look fully healthy. 

“I won’t go specifically into what it is,’’ Judge said. “Obviously, he was medically cleared to go out there and play. I think KT’s a guy that plays through a lot of things. He’s a tough dude. He plays through a lot of things. He doesn’t ever use that as an excuse, and we don’t either.’’ 

Raiders QB Derek Carr came into the game with only five interceptions this season but he was picked off twice, both times by Xavier McKinney, and lost the ball on a fumble with 37 seconds remaining on a sack by rookie Quincy Roche. 

“I mean we moved the heck out of the ball,’’ Carr said. “We had things that we wanted, and I just can’t turn the ball over, I just can’t turn the ball over. You know, can’t throw interceptions. The strip at the end—I didn’t see the guy. That’s why we lost the game.’’ 

Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson’s missed 25-yard field goal attempt with 9:28 remaining was the shortest miss of his career and the shortest miss in the NFL this season. Carlson had hit 40 consecutive field goals from inside the 40. … TE Kaden Smith was forced out in the second quarter after he was evaluated for a concussion and did not return. 

Oshane Ximimes, the third-year outside linebacker, has not done much this season — he had no sacks through the first eight games. Last week, his penalty for jumping offside in Kansas City nullified a Darnay Holmes interception of Patrick Mahomes, a turnover that came with the game tied at 17. Ximines for the first time this season was a healthy scratch Sunday, one of the five inactive players. … The Giants are now 22-11 in games heading into their bye week, the fifth-best record in the league.
