PHILADELPHIA — It is over, mercifully, one of the worst seasons in Giants history. And now comes the time of reckoning.

Who gets the blame for what was an end-to-end mess, a Week 1 to Week 18 disaster, pretty much every step of the way, from start to finish? Who answers for the most losses in a season in franchise history, an embarrassingly bad offense and an overall decline in almost every statistical area? What is the fate of head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen?

The Giants, with their 20-13 loss to a bunch of Eagles backups on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field, now know they own the No. 3 overall pick in the NFL draft. Will Schoen make that pick? Will Daboll coach that player? Does finishing with a record of 3-14 — the most losses in a season in franchise history — mean wholesale changes are forthcoming?

“You do the best you can,’’ Daboll said. “Three wins, not good enough. So, a lot of work to be done.’’

Does Daboll get to continue that work? It is called Black Monday for a reason, as the day after an NFL season ends, firings come fast and furious.

For the Giants, the expectation is not-so-fast with whatever goes down with Daboll and Schoen. A decision on their futures might not be made public on Monday.

It is believed Daboll and Schoen will meet separately with co-owners John Mara and Steve Tisch and those meetings might not come until late Monday or Tuesday morning. Players will clean out their lockers Monday morning. Daboll will conduct exit meetings before the players make their departures.

As it stands, it would be more surprising if Schoen gets fired, three years into the job. He and Daboll were hired in 2022, both coming from the Buffalo Bills organization. Schoen and Daboll are friends and close confidants but they are not a package deal. Ownership could decide to keep both of them — both have five-year contracts — or one of them. The more likely scenario if both are not retained is that Schoen stays and Daboll is dismissed.

“Would I be surprised?’’ outside linebacker Brian Burns said, still in his uniform not long after the game. “I went through four or five in Carolina, so I wouldn’t be surprised ’cause I know the business, it’s happened to me plenty of times.

“Do I want it? Not really. I would like some stability, I would like Dabes and Joe and everybody to stay so we can get rolling next year without starting a whole new regime and a whole new everything. That’s been like my life in the NFL so far. I’m just hoping for the best.’’

Mara and Tisch have had months to take in all the losing in what was supposed to be a celebration of the 100th year of the franchise. They will hear what Schoen and Daboll have to say, as far as what went wrong — that could take a long time — and, more importantly, there will be an opportunity to present solutions and plans to turn the franchise around.

Tisch was in the building for this season finale. Mara rarely misses games, but he was not on the scene, as he was attending the wake of a close family friend.

“I love Dabes, I think he’s a helluva coach, he comes up with the craziest plays when you’re out there,’’ offensive tackle Jermaine Eluemunor told The Post. “Obviously it didn’t work enough this season. I don’t know what Mr. Mara and Mr. Tisch are gonna decide.’’

The Giants are 18-32-1 in three years with Schoen assembling the roster and Daboll coaching the players. They were immediate hits, going 9-7-1 and winning the first playoff game for the franchise since the 2011 season. There was regression to 6-11 in 2023 and a complete meltdown this season, which included a franchise record 10-game losing streak.

Enhancements to the Rooney Rule — designed to increase the hiring of minority candidates — include diversity training for team executives involved in searches for coaches and executive positions. The Giants, according to a source, not long ago reached out to the Jets, inquiring about the training, as the Jets have already embarked on interviews for their head coach and general manager jobs, having fired Robert Saleh and Joe Douglas during the season.

Was this a preemptive fact-finding mission that foreshadows a round of head coach interviews? We shall see in the next day or two.

Daboll said he speaks with the owners “all the time’’ and expected to meet with them soon and “have a conversation.’’ He characterized the season as “not enough wins’’ and acknowledged that the final record is unsightly.

“Yeah, we’re 3-14,’’ Daboll said. “But believe in the people. Believe in our process. And again, we’ll have those conversations.”

And then the verdict will be in.

“I like Dabes,’’ Burns said. “I like the direction he’s going and I like the pieces that they added. Just got to keep adding. I like the way he operates as far as throughout the week and whatnot.’’

If he were making the call on the head coach?

“I’d have him back,’’ Burns said.
