Observations from Thursday’s Giants practice.

Hands-eye coordination

The Giants’ secondary needs to get more hands on the ball this season. CB Adoree’ Jackson perfectly anticipated a short pass to the side from Daniel Jones intended for Cole Beasley.

Jackson jumped the route and nearly came away with a diving interception.

A rough day

The focus in these practices is all about taking care of your teammates on the field and that means no unnecessary contact.

In the final period, WR David Sills and CB Rodarius Williams inadvertently ran into each other, a bit of unwanted physicality to end the day.

Caught my eye

WR Collin Johnson was making a positive impression last summer before he tore his Achilles tendon, ending his season. Johnson is back at it and once again looking good.

The 6-foot-6 Johnson is a hard-to-miss target crossing over the middle and he made a terrific back-shoulder grab over CB Darren Evans on a lob from Tyrod Taylor.

Injury report

Rookie WR Jalin Hyatt was back on the field after he was forced out early a day earlier with heat-related symptoms. Another rookie draft pick, Gervarrius Owens, did not participate in practice on Day 2.
