The Giants are spending the late rounds looking to land a capable pass-rusher. They used their sixth-round pick on Penn State outside linebacker Cameron Brown and started the seventh with Minnesota’s Carter Coughlin (no relation to former coach Tom Coughlin).

Unlike Brown, who is more well-rounded but not necessarily elite at any one thing, the 6-foot-3, 236-pound Coughlin is known for his ability to get to the quarterback, as his 22.5 sacks suggest.

The Giants need as many capable pass rushers as possible, particularly with sack leader and free agent Markus Golden uncertain to return, and Coughlin, a two-time All-Big Ten second-team selection, seems like a worthy gamble.
