With their first pick of the draft’s final day, the Giants took UCLA nickel cornerback Darnay Holmes, and with their second-to-last pick (seventh round, 247th overall), they added another cornerback capable of playing the same position in Minnesota’s Chris Williamson.

Between the two, they should compete for time when the Giants use extra cornerbacks.

The 6-foot Williamson was a star wide receiver in high school, but he struggled early on in his career at Florida as he transitioned to defense. After transferring to Minnesota, he found his way, producing as a reserve his junior year and starting as a senior, when he notched 57 tackles, four for loss, 2.5 sacks, one interception and three pass breakups.
