Daniel Jones and the Giants are back in action looking for their first win of the season.

Big Blue’s been disappointing so far with losses to the Vikings and Commanders. It’s still early but New York needs to get in the win column before their season spirals out of control.

The Giants are 0-2 for the ninth time since 2013 and have yet to muster a winning record with that start.

The Browns, meanwhile, won their first game of the season against the Jaguars last Sunday. Still, they have some glaring concerns led be Deshaun Watson’s shaky QB play.

Will the Giants be able to get their first win? Or will the Browns’ defense stifle them?

Brian Daboll compliments Daniel Jones' performance: 'He was locked in'

By Bridget Reilly

Daniel Jones had a sharp week for the Giants to earn their first victory of the season, 21-15 over the Browns.

Jones went 24-for-34 for 236 yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions. It was his most completions and highest yardage yet this season.

"Had another good week. He's had two good weeks in a row," Brian Daboll said. "You know, I don't know, another 100 plus quarterback rating. Two touchdowns. No interceptions. Handled the noise well. He did a good job of not turning the football over. Executing -- I think we're 100% -- we took a knee at the end so. Again, red zone. But he was locked in and he's been that way. So, we're going to need that from him this week, it's a short week. Lot of work to do."

Giants Week 3 report card: Defense swarmed Deshaun Watson all day

By Paul Schwartz

Grading the Giants’ 21-15 win over the Browns on Sunday:

Offense

Can we split this up into two grades — first and second half?

There were touchdowns on three of four possessions in the first half and Daniel Jones (24 of 34, 236 yards, 2 TDs, passer rating of 109.4) was making like a point guard and distributing the rock.

Looking for Malik Nabers (8-78, 2 TDs) is always a smart move.

The kid can sky and he alertly knocked a deflected ball down to prevent a turnover.

Giants' victory comes on third anniversary of Brian Daboll's grandmother's death

By Bridget Reilly

The Giants 21-15 victory over the Browns on Sunday had more meaning to Brian Daboll.

Besides the fact that he needed to earn his first win sooner rather than later to not end up in a big hole, it was the third anniversary of his grandmother's death.

"It was a normal NFL game. It was competitive. Showed a lot of resiliency on the road, particularly how the game started. This is the third year anniversary of my grandmother's death, today the 22nd. She raised me and I was kinda giving her the business after those first two plays, like 'What the hell you got in store for me?'

"But the guys competed. I'm proud of the way they competed. Defensively, they're a good football team but we got into a rhythm, made some plays early in the game. Stalled out on a few in the second half. At the end of the day, made a play at the end there to seal it."

The Giants started the game with a fumble off of the kickoff that quickly resulted in a one-play drive from the Browns that earned them a touchdown to get up 7-0 in the first 11 seconds.

Malik Nabers still dwells on drop vs. Commanders: 'Not over it'

By Bridget Reilly

After a 78-yard day of eight receptions and two touchdowns in the Giants' 21-15 victory over the Browns, Malik Nabers still thinks about his crucial drop from the Commanders game in Week 2.

With 2:09 left to play on a fourth-and-4, the Giants needed to convert as they were too shorthanded in the special teams department to tick a tiebreaking field goa.

Nabers dropped his 18th target of the game and the turnover on downs gave the Commanders a walk-off field goal.

"I'm still not over it. It still bothers me," Nabers said on Sunday in Cleveland. "It still bothers me but it's something I just got to put in my past. I'm never gonna -- I'm never gonna not think about it. I'm never gonna not think about it. It still goes through my mind every day."

Still, Nabers said he is happy with his performance today and how he's impressed overall in New York. He has 278 yards for two touchdowns this season so far.

"I had high expectations but I feel like having that dawg mentality," Nabers said. "It's showing every time I'm out there on the field. No matter what play it is, it's just showing up every time I'm out there on the field."

Daniel Jones to Malik Nabers: 'It's [Nabers] or nobody'

By Bridget Reilly

Daniel Jones told Malik Nabers that no picks should be had.

In the second quarter on second down with eight yards to go, Jones set the plan to loft the ball up to Nabers deep to get inside the Brown's 20 yard line.

"DJ told me if he throws it up there, it's me or nobody," Nabers said after the Giants' 21-15 win. "Don't let him get a pick. I tried to put my hands in front of his hands."

Nabers caught the 28-yard pass on the left sideline where he reached over the top of Browns’ Martin Emerson, stealing the ball away while landing in bounds on Cleveland’s 13.

He later scored his first touchdown of the game on the drive, putting the Giants up 14-7.

Not to damper the day for Giants fans, but no, Saquon Barkley didn't come up short for the Eagles this week.

The game stayed at 3-0 with the Saints leading until the fourth quarter, as both offenses had a tough time finding a groove.

The Eagles finally got on the board early in the fourth quarter with a 65-yard touchdown from Barkley. Later on with under two minutes to go, the running back got another touchdown and a two-point conversion to secure the victory.

Giants avoid another catastrophe with desperately needed first win over Browns

By Paul Schwartz

CLEVELAND — They tried every which way to do what seemed impossible — turn a rousing and rare victory into a devastating defeat. The Giants after building a comfortable lead got all sorts of uncomfortable on Sunday. They bent, but they did not break.

A 21-7 lead was trimmed and threatened but it never went away. The Giants needed to make a defensive stand and they did, coming away from Huntington Bank Field with a tense and badly needed 21 15 victory over the Browns.

After an 0-2 start, the Giants could not absorb another loss and that they did not was a testament to their revolve at the end — and a truly dreadful showing from Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson. The Giants sacked him seven times.

Devin Singletary breakout run gives Giants control in final two minutes

By Bridget Reilly

After the Browns failed to convert on fourth down after the Giants missed a field goal, Daniel Jones and the offense got the ball on the Cleveland 44 and wasted no time for the chance to waste time.

Jones handed the ball off to Devin Singletary, who broke away on the run to get to the one-yard line for 43 yards to kickoff the two minute warning.

Devin Singletary understood the assignment. That should ice the game for the @Giants!
