It only took three weeks for the Giants to make a quarterback switch.

Rookie QB Jaxson Dart is replacing Russell Wilson under center for his starting NFL debut against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The winless Giants made the bold change after a 22-9 loss to the Chiefs on “Sunday Night Football.” Big Blue hopes the 22-year-old rookie will provide a much-needed spark to what’s been a lackluster offense.

Coach Brian Daboll raved about his new starting quarterback, Jaxson Dart.

"I know 6 is probably going to be sore, he gutted it out," the coach said. "Son's a tough son of a you know what. He's tough, I knew that."

The Giants beat the Chargers

The Giants beat the Chargers, 21-18, in Jaxson Dart's debut. The defense was the star. Two interceptions of Justin Herbert directly led to 10 points. Dart played well, scoring two touchdowns. There was bad news, with Malik Nabers suffered what is reportedly believed to be a torn ACL. Giants improve to 1-3. Next up is the Saints, which is a winnable game. Dart finished 13-of-20 for 111 yards and 54 rushing yards on 11 carries.

With a chance to run out the clock, the Giants picked up a huge first down. The Chargers will get the ball back, but only around 30 seconds. The defense has come up huge.

Giants stopped at the goal line

The Giants had a chance to ice it, but couldn't score after having 1st-and-goal at the Chargers' 4-yard-line. They went for it on fourth down, but Dart and Wan'Dale Robinson couldn't connect. Chargers now have the ball down three late in the fourth quarter.

Chargers respond quickly

The Giants' breathing room didn't last long. Omarion Hampton responds with a 54-yard touchdown run and Justin Herbert followed with a keeper on the two-point try to make it 21-18. It's not going to be easy for the Giants to get their first win.

Giants take advantage of turnover

Jaxson Dart with his first NFL touchdown pass, a shovel pass to Theo Johnson from three yards out. After a penalty, Giants go for two, and get it, with Cam Skattebo punching it in. 21-10, Giants, 2:49 left in the third quarter.

Dru Phillips picks off Justin Herbert and takes it all the way back to the Chargers' 3-yard-line. A receiver fell down and Herbert threw it right to Phillips. Big opportunity for the Giants.

Jaxson Dart started the second half after getting checked for a concussion late in the second quarter. The Giants went 3-and-out after starting deep in their own territory. They still lead, 13-10.

Nabers believed to have torn ACL

NFL Network is reporting that it is believed that Giants receiver Malik Nabers has a torn ACL. Just brutal news for the second-year pro. He was carted off the field in the second quarter. An MRI is schedule for Monday morning, ESPN reported.
