The search for added depth along the interior of the defensive line led the Giants on Wednesday to the signing of veteran Josh Tupou to a one-year deal.

Tupou, 32, is yet another player with ties to new head coach John Harbaugh to come aboard. Tupou spent the past two seasons with the Ravens, coached by Harbaugh.

Tupou played six games in those two seasons and also spent time on the practice squad.To make room on the roster for Tupou, offensive lineman Reid Holskey was waived.

The Giants suffered a setback last week when Roy Robertson-Harris went down in practice with a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Robertson-Harris started all 17 games in 2025. That prompted the need to add another big body up front on defense.

Tupou went undrafted out of Colorado in 2017. He spent parts of six seasons with the Bengals before heading to Baltimore.

A 6–foot-3, 350-pound nose tackle, Tupou in 71 NFL games (23 starts) has 94 combined tackles and three sacks.

The nose tackle the past seven seasons, Dexter Lawrence, was traded to the Bengals for the No. 10 pick in the 2026 draft, which the Giants used to select offensive lineman Sisi Mauigoa, expected to be the starting right guard.

The Giants signed veteran D.J. Reader to replace Lawrence at nose tackle.

The Giants this past Tuesday worked out a few defensive linemen, including Tupou and a more established veteran, Eddie Goldman.
