The defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles begin the road to another Super Bowl appearance tonight in the Wild Card round.
As the No. 3 seed, the Eagles will be starting a crew of rested players after coach Nick Sirianni declined to start them in the regular season finale last weekend. They’re coming into today’s game off a Week 18 loss.
Their opponent, the San Francisco 49ers, are also entering off a loss, though their starters did play in Week 18’s winner-take-all game for the NFC’s No. 1 seed. The loss to Seattle kept the 49ers out of the No. 1 seed and prevented a first round bye.
