For the third year in a row, the NFL is teaming up with Disney to present a Monday Night Football ‘altcast’ featuring popular animated characters.

While 2023’s edition took place in Andy’s Bedroom, a main location in the “Toy Story” series, and 2024 took viewers to Atoms Stadium in “The Simpsons” Springfield, tonight’s Monday Night Football matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Chargers is going to Monstropolis, the main city setting in Pixar’s “Monsters, Inc.”

Want to tune in to this unique take on football? Keep reading for everything you need to know about Monsters Funday Football.

What is Monsters Funday Football?

Monsters Funday Football is a fully animated Monday Night Football game transformed in real-time to the animation style of “Monsters, Inc.” using Sony’s Beyond Sports Technology. The Eagles take on the Chargers “live” from Monstropolis.

Animated versions of the Eagles and Chargers will face off in real-time on the field in Monstropolis, mirroring the live action inside SoFi Stadium.

Billy Crystal reprises his voice role of Mike Wazowski, who will suit up for the Eagles, while James P. “Sulley” Sullivan, voiced again by John Goodman, will take the field with the Chargers. Roz, the Scare Floor F administrator, voiced by Bob Peterson, will handle the sideline-reporting duties.

When is the ‘Monsters, Inc.’ Monday Night Football game?

The Monsters Funday Football Monday Night Football game airs tonight, Dec. 8, at 8:15 p.m. ET.
