Las Vegas doesn’t always win, apparently.
The casinos had a rough opening of the NFL season Sunday, thanks to many popular favorites covering the spread. Overall the favorites went 9-4, with ESPN.com reporting the biggest hits came with the Packers covering against the Bears and the Dolphins against the Redskins.
“I don’t remember a worse opening Sunday,” Jay Kornegay, chief of the Westgate SuperBook, told the website.
And while the Giants choked away a victory against the Cowboys, they were heroes for sports books for covering the spread.
Had the Cowboys covered, it would have been a “disaster of epic proportions,” according to Kornegay.
