It appears to be Drew Lock’s time in Denver.

The Broncos’ rookie QB looks ready to come off injured reserve and get his first career start this weekend against the Los Angeles Chargers, according to multiple reports.

The long-awaited debut for the 42nd-overall pick in the 2019 draft comes after the 23-year-old spent the first 11 weeks of season in IR with a thumb injury sustained during the preseason. In interim, the Broncos watched veteran Joe Flacco struggle through a decidedly not-elite first eight weeks of the season before handing the keys to Brandon Allen for three underwhelming starts.

This week, Lock has been taking first-team reps at Denver practices.

There’s not much hope for the hapless Broncos to make the playoffs at 3-8, but finally getting a look at Lock will tell whether or not GM and franchise legend John Elway’s string of quarterback misses continues.
