Giants running back Brandon Jacobs was back on the practice field Thursday after missing Wednesday with an undisclosed illness.

Defensive end Osi Umemyiora returned after skipping Wednesday, taking his usually-scheduled rest to manage his bad knee. Wide receiver/return man Darius Reynaud was dressed, but did not participate in the part of practice the press was allowed to watch.

Offensive tackle David Diehl, fullback Madison Hedgecock and center Shaun O’Hara all missed practice Thursday.

The Giants played host to a number of uniformed military personnel at practice on Veteran’s Day. They walked in trailed by a police officer; I’m figuring they didn’t need much in the way of a bodyguard.
