Jadeveon Clowney was considered one of the premier defensive players in the NFL as recently as two years ago. But after two straight sad free agency periods, and one even sadder season with the Titans, his hard fall is nearly complete.

Clowney is visiting with the Browns on Monday and a deal is expected to be completed at some point in the near future, according to ESPN. It’s his second time visiting the team this offseason, after he visited them last month and left without a deal.

Clowney also received a multi-year contract offer from the Browns last offseason, according to the report, but turned them down. He reportedly was waiting for a monster deal last offseason, but it never came.

Instead, he ended up waiting until the week before the season began to sign a one-year, $13 million deal with the Titans. It was not long after he fired his agent, unhappy with the offers he was getting at the time.

He followed the dramatic holdout up with a disappointing season with the Titans, recording zero sacks in eight games before missing the remainder of the season with a knee injury.

He is expected to be ready for the start of Week 1, but his market has been cold for a second-straight season. And after turning down the Browns once already, he ended up right back at their doorstep.
