Jamal Adams will be in search of a contract extension this offseason, but he’ll also require multiple surgeries.
The former Jets safety, who saw his season end Saturday when the Seahawks were upset by the Rams, played through a torn labrum in his left shoulder that will need surgery, Adams revealed. He also has broken fingers on his left hand that will require another surgery.
Adams also said he has a right shoulder injury, but hoped that it would not lead to a third surgery.
“I guess I don’t have any luck on my left side right now,” Adams told reporters after Saturday’s loss.
“I’m not sitting up here and making excuses for anything, but it’s part of the game,” he added. “There was never no doubt in my mind that I wasn’t going to go out there and attempt to play. I did what I could. I wish I could have done more to help the team win, but obviously things didn’t roll our way. I think we shot ourselves in the foot a lot of times, on both sides of the ball, and versus a good team like that you just can’t do it.”

Adams, who has a year left on his contract, said he wore a harness on his left shoulder that restricted his movement. The injury happened during the Seahawks’ regular-season finale but did not keep Adams from playing in his first career playoff game.
Adams also delivered a hit on Rams starting quarterback John Wolford in the first quarter Saturday that sent him to the hospital with a neck injury and led to Jared Goff entering the game. Wolford returned to celebrate the win with his teammates.
