The Los Angeles Rams were the talk of the NFL last season, with Sean McVay being hailed as an offensive genius and Jared Goff looking like he was fulfilling his prophecy as the No. 1 overall pick from the 2016 NFL Draft.

Less than a year removed from falling to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LIII, the Rams look nothing like title contenders and Goff has suddenly become a $110 million question mark.

Goff, 25, signed a four-year, $134 million contract extension before the start of the 2019 NFL season, a deal which includes an NFL record $110 million in guaranteed money. He threw for 4,688 yards, 32 touchdowns and 12 interceptions last season while leading the Rams to a 13-3 record.

The Rams have to be wondering if they made a huge mistake as Goff has already matched his interception total from last year and has just 11 touchdowns through 11 games. Goff did not throw a touchdown pass in November, passing for fewer than 250 yards in all three of Los Angeles’ games this month. At 6-5, the Rams are two games out of a wild-card spot and an afterthought for the 49ers and Seahawks in the NFC West.

During Monday night’s demoralizing 45-6 home loss to the Ravens, Goff went 26-for-37 with 212 yards and two interceptions. The Rams didn’t score an offensive touchdown for the second time in three games and they’ve scored a total of 25 points over their last three games. The six points matches the fewest the Rams have scored under McVay.

“There’s a million things (that have gone wrong this season). We have to be better consistently,” Goff said after the game, per the Associated Press.
